EXAMINATION OF COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDIES IN INDIA AND THE UNITED STATES USING SCOPUS

Abstract

In recent times, there has been a noticeable surge in the inclination of Indian authors towards the domain of research impact analysis, with a specific focus on Indian educational institutions across several disciplines. This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of research impact, specifically examining a set of Indian institutes in contrast to their counterparts in the United States, with a specific focus on the field of computer science. In order to accomplish this project, a thorough dataset going up to January 2023 has been obtained from Scopus. The collected data is subsequently submitted to an extensive analysis that utilizes a diverse range of quantitative and qualitative citation measures. Python, a highly adaptable programming language widely recognized for its effectiveness in the fields of data analysis and visualization, is employed to facilitate the aforementioned analysis. The main aim of this study is to provide light on the overall research effect of specific Indian Institutes and United States in the field of Computer Science. Through the examination of diverse citation metrics, this research aims to offer significant perspectives on the international reputation and impact of these establishments, therefore enhancing comprehension of the scholarly environment in the field of Computer Science in India and the United States.
